Daily Lives of the Displaced

About ten years ago, I worked on the series “Daily Lives,” researching the interaction of people sharing a common space. I asked my friends for permission to become an observer of their daily lives to document “how we live together.” On February 24th, 2022, when russia invaded Ukraine, I was forced to move from Kharkiv to Lviv, like many other displaced people. Since then, I have continued my series in a totally different context, photographing how people have to share spaces in their new temporary homes. I visit shelters, houses, and apartments inhabited by IDPs and document how people re-invent their daily life in new places, leaving behind their homes, jobs, and past life.
